It requires that the CEO and leadership team are at all times aware of the organisation’s capacity to drive ambitious plans – an awareness of whether the operations and people processes are aligned with the strategic process.
Only initiatives, for which the operational and people capacities exist, will be included in the plan. Initiatives, which do not meet this criterion, will be postponed until the shortcomings have been addressed.
It is often assumed that a well formulated plan which has been communicated to all stakeholders will be executed. That is not the case – a plan needs an execution strategy.
